Lovenox is an anticoagulant from the low molecular weight heparin family. It prevents the formation or extension of clots in the blood vessels. At low doses, it is used in the preventive treatment of thromboembolic accidents, in particular in recent operations or in people who are bedridden or immobilized. In high doses, it is used in the treatment of venous thrombosis and in combination with aspirin in the initial treatment of acute coronary syndrome and myocardial infarction.
