Type I / type III fibrillar collagen. These are the collagens found in the extracellar matrix of our blood vessels. Von Willebrand factor binds to type I and III collagen fibers through the A3 domain.
Collagen is also a powerful activator of blood platelets by its attachment to its GPVI receptor.
